8th June 2023
This year June compared to what we have seen in the last two years has brought much relief. Not only are we seeing capacity and equipment being more readily available, shipping lines are slowly starting to decrease the freight rates. Citrus into Europe is in high demand whilst Far East has seen a decline due to weather in North and less grapefruit being exported.
Latest CGA stats show an increase in packed/shipped citrus volumes compared to 2022:
DOCUMENTATION
Titan is still an industry sore point as pack houses, cold stores, exporters and agents all try to adapt to the new way of working. We appreciate our clients patience and assistance during this time.
SHIPPING LINES
Hapag Lloyd is offering a Canada service (Montreal/Toronto) on their WAF service ex Port Elizabeth. Direct call into Montreal avoids the weight restrictions experienced on Newark/New York offloading with a competitive transit time.
WE CARE
GoGlobal’s “GoMad” project has challenged our staff to get active by racking up “Moon Miles” and contribute towards a donation at the end of the season to one of our 20 nominated NPOs. If any of our clients would like to join this initiative to Make A Difference, please contact me for further information.
