Good Evening
Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy.
Herewith the latest information from the GoReefers desk for you to take note of:
LOCAL NEWS
- E-Cert please keep in mind of the past weekend’s maintenance downtime Saturday & Sunday please expect some delays in the release of the phyto’s for the coming week.
- Empty Container equipment is currently under pressure, especially in the Eastern Cape due to load shedding stages that have been increased ,this is causing much delays in the washing and passing of export reefers and putting additional pressure on the logistics chain please keep this in mind when doing your daily planning.
DURBAN
SAECS delays in Durban and restriction of Dry loading on Santa Isabel/232N. We have been facing multiple challenges in Durban Pier 1 over the past few weeks, major among them is a breakdown of one or more cranes and unavailability of RTGs in yard. This coupled with intermittent bad weather this has caused a delay on the vessels in 278 service.
Currently the MOL Proficiency and Santa Clara are estimated to be upto 6 days delayed in berthing, the line-up is only expected to normalize end-May to mid-June. In view of this and to maintain schedule integrity on the SAECS in the peak of Citrus season, we have decided to cancel all dry loading on the Santa Isabel/232N. This will ensure the service comes back on track and is on time into Cape Town and Europe.
Should you wish to look at the option of loading EU conventional please speak to your Log manager or CSM for costings and vessel options.
INTERNATIONAL
- Suspension of issuance of Phytosanitary Certificates for Apples to Taiwan – it was clarified with DALRRD that containers already loaded will receive phytos, however containers not loaded (even if in stack for a vessel) must be rerouted as they will not receive phytos. Load date must be 21 May or earlier.
- Please see attached notification regarding direct loadings to Spain for the citrus season should you wish to make use of this option please read trough the information carefully and complete the necessary documentation for the CGIC/FPEF
