17th March 2023
As we approach the weekend, and a week quieter than what we have seen over the last month and half, here is a recap and update on what has happened and yet to come:
Vessel berthing is still under pressure in Cape Town with TPT looking at a contingency plan to get things back on track.
Wind in Cape Town is expected to pick up over the weekend, with potential of port going Wind Bound on Sunday into Monday:
MSC is releasing empties based on stack due to slow turn around of empties with the delay in the port:
hilst various political parties are trying to put a halt to National Shutdown, we foresee problems on Monday, 20 March, with loadings. It is strongly recommended to postpone any planned loads till 22 March given some service providers will be operating with limited staff due to safety concerns.
On a positive note, MIAX partners, ONE/Hapag, have confirmed a weekly calling in Durban during the citrus season. This trade covers both Middle East and West Africa. Vessel options are available on www.root2go.group
